Cargo can be damaged by accidents,
outright mistakes or just by the normal jostling and shifting
that occurs in transit. This damage can be superficial
and not affect the value of the cargo, or it can be catastrophic
where container and cargo are rendered completely unserviceable.
In these cases, survey of the damaged cargo would
establish the cause of the damage in the eyes of the authorities
and insurance companies, and document any possibility
of repair or recovery that might allow recovered cargo
to be delivered. These surveys may be carried out
at any stage in transit or a variety of purposes.
If you suspect an inspection for your cargo is in order
– either to safeguard what you have shipped or to keep
from importing a problem in a container – contact us for
guidance and a quote for specific services.

- Cargo Pre-Shipment Surveys
There are some countries that require
pre-approval for your export shipment prior to allowing
it into the country. Often in these cases, a survey
of cargo must be conducted to obtain this approval prior
to loading your cargo in the US. Sometimes in purchasing
used or tremendously valuable cargo, it is advisable to
have an independent buyer’s representative inspect the
goods before purchasing and shipping. We can get
these inspections done anywhere in the US. Please
contact us for a personal and confidential quote on your
specific needs.
